Potential health effects Eyes HOT MOLTEN material can cause irreversible eye injury and burns. Contact with SOLID material may cause irritation with temporary redness with stinging and tearing. Skin When it is heated, this material may cause thermal burns. Inhalation Inhalation of mist causes irritation of respiratory system. Ingestion Ingestion causes irritation of upper respiratory system and gastrointestinal disturbance. Molten material will produce burns to the gastrointestinal tract. Fire and explosion This product will not ignite under normal situations but can be ignited in the extreme hea associated with a fire. Vapors are lighter than air and should rise, accumulating in overhangs and ceilings. In a fire situation, exposed containers may build up pressure and burst explosively spewing hot material. Irritating and potentially harmful vapors may be released in a fire or spill situation. 3. Composition / Information on Ingredients The manufacturer lists no ingredients as hazardous according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200. 4. First Aid Measures First aid procedures Eye contact If hot product contacts eye, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. Skin contact If hot product contacts skin, cool under running water and get medical attention. Cool melted product on skin with plenty of water. Do not remove solidified product. Inhalation Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapours or decomposition products. If symptoms persist, get medical attention. Ingestion If ingested, get immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or is having convulsions. 5. Fire Fighting Measures Hazardous combustion products Extinguishing media Suitable extinguishing media Upon decomposition, this product emits carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and/or low molecular weight hydrocarbons. Dry chemical, CO2, water spray or regular foam. Avoid using a direct stream of water. A solid stream of water may scatter molten product. Material name: HM6239-F10 57112 Version #: 02 Revision date: 02-04-2014 Print date: 02-04-2014 MSDS US 2 / 4 ? Unsuitable extinguishing media Fire fighting equipment/instructions e Avoid using a direct stream of water. A solid stream of water may scatter molten product. Firefighters should wear full protective clothing including self contained breathing apparatus. Dust explosion hazard Static Discharge Hazard. Sensitivity to static discharge This product may retain a static electrical charge, which could produce a spark. Appropriate precautions should be taken prior to use. Unusual fire & explosion hazards Avoid using a direct stream of water. A solid stream of water may scatter molten product. Should a spark occur near flammable vapors, or airborne dust mixtures, an explosion could occur resulting in injury or death. Appropriate precautions should be taken prior to use. Flash point > 400 OF (> 204.4 OC) 6. Accidental Release Measures Emergency action Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Follow all Local, State, Federal and Provencial regulations for disposal. Containment procedures Isolate spill area. Stop discharge if safe to do so. Pellet or chip spill: Collect and contain for salvage or disposal. Molten adhesive spill: Placard hot material, allow to cool and remove. Collect and contain for salvage or disposal. Stop material from contaminating soil or from entering sewers or water streams. Reporting See Federal reporting requirements listed in Section 15. We recommend you contact local authorities to determine if there may be other local reporting requirements. 7. Handling and Storage For Commercial Use Only - Not Packaged or Labeled for Home Use! Handling Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid contact with molten material. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid breathing fumes if this product is used at high temperatures. Use this product with adequate ventilation. Storage Keep the container tightly closed and dry. Empty container precaution Attention! Follow label warnings even after container is emptied since empty containers may retain product residues. Do not reuse empty container without professional cleaning for food, clothing, or products for human or animal consumption, or where skin contact can occur. 8. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection Engineering controls Ventilation should be sufficient to effectively remove and prevent buildup of any dusts or fumes that may be generated during handling or thermal processing. Personal protective equipment Eye protection Wear safety glasses; chemical goggles for fumes which may arise from thermal processing. Wear chemical goggles; face shield (if handling molten material). Skin and body protection Work clothing sufficient to prevent all skin contact should be worn, such as coveralls and long sleeves. For molten product, use any type rubber thermal insulating gloves and other clothing as necessary to protect from thermal burns. Respiratory protection When dusts or thermal processing fumes are generated and ventilation is not sufficient to effectively remove them, appropriate NIOSH/MSHA approved respiratory protection must be provided. General Eye wash fountain and emergency showers are recommended. 9.
