Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse. INGESTION: Remove dentures if any. Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Aspiration hazard if swallowed. Can enter lungs and cause damage. Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed: Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: None known. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do not use water jet. Specific hazards arising from the chemical: Combustible l iquid. In a fire or if heated, a pressure increase will occur and the container may burst, with the risk of a subsequent explosion. The vapor/gas is heavier than air and will spread along the ground. Vapors may accumulate in low or confined areas or travel a considerable distance to a source of ignition and flash back. Fire water contaminated with this material must be contained and prevented from being discharged to any waterway, sewer or drain. Special equipment and precautions for fire-fighters: Move containers from fire area if this can be done without risk. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal precautions, protective equipment, and emergency procedures: Use personal protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas. Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Contain spillage. Stop leak if without risk. Move containers from spill Safety Data Sheet: Diesel Defrost (B-2001) Revised: 8/26/2016 Page 3 of 6 area. Use spark-proof tools and explosion-proof equipment. Absorb with an inert material and place in an appropriate waste disposal container. Dispose of according to local regulations. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Precautions for safe handling: Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8). Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapor or mist. Avoid release to the environment. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep tightly closed when not in use. Store and use away from heat, sparks, open flame or any other ignition source. DO NOT reuse container. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from and food and drink. Store locked up. Eliminate all ignition sources. Separate from oxidizing materials. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabeled containers. Store in original container, keep closed in a secure location. Combustible liquid. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION Chemical Name / CAS No. OSHA Exposure Limits ACGIH Exposure Limits (TLV) NIOSH Recommended Exposure Limits CALIF. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Individual protection measures Respiratory protection: None under normal use. Avoid breathing vapors. In restricted areas , use approved Safety Data Sheet: Diesel Defrost (B-2001) Revised: 8/26/2016 Page 4 of 6 chemical/mechanical filters designed to remove a combination or particles and vapor. In confined areas, use an approved air line respirator or hood. Self-contained breathing apparatus is required for vapor concentrations above PEL/TLV limits. Protective gloves: Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands. Eye protection: Safety glasses. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU). Other protective clothing or equipment: None under normal use.
